With advancements in advertising revenue streams and having negotiated direct advertising deals and sponsorships, we believe that now is the right time to replace our subscriptions with a 'freemium' model instead.
Version 9 of the Sims Resource is now live and gives users unparalleled access to all of the 852,000+ downloads available for The Sims games, including our Featured Artist creations that have previously been locked away for subscribers. You don't even need to create an account or even log in, just turn up, browse and download anything you like with no restrictions.
Sites like TSR have substantial overheads with bandwidth fees and masses of online storage space. We also pay our small army of Featured Artists to create some of the highest quality creations you will find in the Sims community. We think that our new site design, which incorporates additional ads when downloading, will cover these costs and provide a future for TSR and our amazing archive of 14 years worth of custom content creation, for years to come.

I have a subscription for TheSimsResource. Want anything guys?
This subreddit has helped me out so much, finding content, fixing bugs, etc. So I had a little bit of extra cash and decided to go ahead and get a subscription to TSR. Since a few of the anti-paysites have went down because their mediafire pages were reported, I figured now would be a good time.
I'll be on for quite a while today, so it shouldn't take too long to get what you want. Thanks guys!

Downloading from The Sims Resource
So, am I the only one who can't download from this ridiculous website half the time? I can put up with the ads practically breaking my computer, or waiting a minute either way because the ads take so long to load. However, what drives me absolutely crazy is when I go to download something, waiting the 10 seconds (plus about 30 more, again, waiting for ads to load), getting to the 'thank you for downloading' screen, and just...not getting a download. Nothing happens. I just have to go back and try 5 more times and hope it works.
Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone know how to report this to them? I don't see a 'contact us' link on the website, but this is a serious problem. I have a feeling that either they do it on purpose to try to get you to pay, or it just takes so long for all the ads to load that the browser forgets what it was supposed to be doing.

If you just have paid for a VIP membership, but still have to go to a different page and wait for your download to start, there are a few possible explanations.
If this is still not working please contact TSR support, by mailing a message to [email protected].
How to cancel a VIP membership
The Sims Resource does not refund already started payment periods.
All Vip membership subscriptions will auto-renew monthly, 6-monthly or yearly, depending on which period you've chosen. You can at all times cancel the auto-renewal on this page: http://www.thesimsresource.com/mytsr/account/subscriptions. Your VIP membership will stay valid for all the days you've already paid for. So the cancelled status on this page is purely indicating that it will no longer auto-renew.
REGISTERI have not received a verification from TSR after I registered for an account.
Although the verification e-mail is sent out from the TSR servers instantly, it might still take some time before it lands in your inbox. Normally you should get it within a few minutes though.
You might also want to check you spam folder, it might have ended up there.

TSR checks all the uploaded files for viruses, and yes... you can be safe that you won't get viruses from downloading from TSR.
When it comes to ads, those are run from an ad network, and they are assuring us that they do everything they can to make sure the ads they provide us don't include malware/spyware.
No matter of all TSR's efforts in keeping TSR safe, browsing the Internet does always involve the risk of having your computer infected. So we strongly recommend you having an up-to-date security package installed.
TSR uses VeriSign for all Registration and Subscriptions transactions to insure your personal information is safe.

There is no way to get your password back as we do not store it in plain text. If you have lost your password you can Reset your lost TSR password and have it emailed to the address that is registered for your account.

Please note that you need to have a working email address registered for this process to work, if you don't receive the email with instructions for resetting the password you should contact support ([email protected]).
Passwords are case-sensitive, and you login using your e-mail address (not username) together with the password.

Cookies
TheSimsResource.com use cookies and requires that your browser has cookies enabled. If you try to log in and the page just reloads with the login fields still there, then it is most likely due to a problem with cookies.

Another common problem is that you may have activated caps lock by mistake, the login is case sensitive.
The login system on TSR relies on cookies to work. However, it might happen sometime that the cookies needed for you to be identified as logged in when browsing the site works, while something is missing when you try to actually download anything. We have seen that this can happen if your browsers has a lot of tracking cookies coming from the ads. Many anti-spyware programs can find and remove them all, but the best ones can.
TSR recommend SUPERAntiSpyware, which is among the best anti-spyware solutions on the market. And it is available in a free version.
Facebook login
You can sign in to TSR using facebook as an option to log in using a TSR email and password. This works for both existing accounts and for new members that don't already have a TSR account. The first time you sign in using facebook you will see a page that asks you if you want to link to an existing account or if you would like to create a new account.
If you create a new account then this new account will be used for any future facebook logins, and this will be the only way to log in since the regular TSR email and password method wont work for that account.

Changing your User Name
We discourage username changes as they can confuse other users that might have you bookmarked or have posted in your guestbook etc.
If you really want to change your username you can send your preferred usernames to us, we need at least 2 usernames to choose from in case one of them is taken. Submit your request by sending a mail to [email protected]. If the name change is reasonable it may be considered. Removing your TSR Account completely
You cannot remove your TSR account yourself. You must contact TSR support ([email protected]) and we will remove it for you. If you have submitted things to TSR and wish those to be removed as well, you must contact Submission Support by sending a message throught the submission message system. Removal of uploads is determined on a case by case basis. Please refer to the TSR Terms and Conditions of uploading creations.
